Remaining a staple within the racing sneaker community for well over a decade, the New Balance 1906R has remained top-of-mind for the Boston-based brand featuring a slew of collaborative installments with GANNI, AURALEE, and Salehe Bembury.
While the latter efforts have strayed further from the late 2000s racing solutions’ original compositions, the timeless mesh runner has since embarked upon a neutral-exclusive collection of colorways. Executing a quartet of compositions perfect for the transition from fall to winter, the 1906R constructs its synonymous mesh base and synthetic textile overlays in true form to that of its circa 2009 tooling.
Introduced via a greyscale ensemble, black and “Steel” accents provide a layered aesthetic atop the “Brighton Grey” base. Tonal olive hues then fill the silhouette’s second initiative from the N-ergy outsole to the inner lining. Jet-black shades fill the mesh of another pair with bright grey TPU overlays and even brighter “Pink Moon” mid-foot logos while the final iteration remains anchored in a fall-friendly “Mocha” scheme.
The New Balance 1906R Fall/Winter collection is currently available for a retail price of $155.
